North Cleethorpes Legacy Artwork

Creating North Cleethorpes Legacy Urban Shutter Artwork and Miniature Treasure Trail

Our North Cleethorpes urban artwork legacy project funded by Create NEL was led by Cleethorpes Urban Artist Lyns Powles. A series of practical workshops were held with young people from our target area, resulting in a shutter art design in graffiti style at our community hub, depicting scenes from our Cleethorpes urban arts trail from the young people’s perspective.

In addition, four miniature diorama artwork pieces were designed by Lyns and hidden at Cleethorpes venues involved in Big Local. These were also influenced by young residents leaving more legacy artwork in their design and adding to the art trail around the resort for residents and visitors to discover. The young urban artists learned new skills and shared them as their legacy.

The project ran October 2024 to January 2025 and was funded by Create North East Lincolnshire.

Further workshops for the young people were also held just to keep them working together on art projects.
